Why?

One of the toughest things I have to deal with as a Preacher is when people ask me the “why” question. Why is this happening to me? Why did my loved one die? Why don’t I see the results that I want? etc., etc. Truthfully, I even ask them myself. I have been reading the book of Job in the Bible and it seems that if anyone deserves to ask why, it would be Job. He has seemingly lost everything, except his life (we won’t talk about his wife, at this point). He does cry out to God. He even asks the why question; however, in the midst of his questions his faith comes through. In 19:25 he says, “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will stand upon the earth.” Job is saying that he may never understand why life happens the way it does, but he knows God. He knows that no matter how bad it looks, God wins. I’m not saying that we should stop searching for answers to our questions, but in the midst of our search let us never forget that He will be standing in the end and because of His grace, we can stand with Him. Let’s get our strength to go on today from Him. Blessings
