Some days it just seems like nothing will go right. There are seasons when those days group together, one after another, with no end in sight. The harder I try to be “good” and “righteous” the worse it seems to get. Evil just seems to be “winning” all around me. I want to cry out, “Is there no balm in Gilead?” or maybe even “Where are You God?” And sometimes, when I am really empowered with boldness, I do. I’m not afraid to cry out to God, but that is not always the answer or solution. As the angel Michael reminded Daniel in chapter 12 of his book, sometimes the way to handle the evil that seems to be winning is to simply “wait”. Verse 12 says, “Blessed is he who waits …..” Michael is speaking of waiting for God and God’s time; know that the new heavens and the new earth are there as promised, but in God’s time – according to His plan. Now “to wait” doesn’t mean to sit idly by and watch the world “go to hell in a hand basket”. No “to wait” means to be about God’s business (to love the unlovable) even on those days when nothing is going our way. It can get awfully lonely waiting by myself, will you join me? Blessings
