As our “western” world seems to be falling deeper and deeper into the abyss that does not include God it gets easier and easier to pray Psalm 83. We want God to stop keeping silent (v.1) and to make “them like whirling dust” (v.13). We want God to step in and make things right – to put us back on coarse. We want Him to get rid of everyone that doesn’t agree with us, so that the world can truly be at peace again. But wait; the psalmist doesn’t pray that “they” would be wiped out. He prays that God might wake them up to the fact that He, and He alone is God. I guess I need to modify my pray today. Instead of praying for God to wipe out the evil, I’m going to pray for God to allow others to see Him as their evil fails to bring them their desired peace. He is the peace. Blessings
