I confess that I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I did pay enough attention in my engineering classes at NC State to learn that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Why is it then that God never seems to lead us anywhere on a straight line? He always leads us around before finally settling in on our destination. As an example read Exodus 13. Instead of taking the Israelites on a direct path to the Promised Land, God leads them on the scenic route that eventually takes 40 years to get there. It makes me wonder if we need to pay more attention to the journey instead of focusing so much on the destination. I’m going to try to keep my eyes open to how God might reveal more of Himself along my journey. You can open yours too if you want. Blessings.
