On a mission trip to rebuild a church in the mountains of Jamaica we were driving back down the mountain to our home for the week. The mountain road was “hairy” at best with many instances of seemingly no road underneath us. Our driver was used to the conditions but even so liked to go too fast. On this particular day I was taking a nap during the ride. After an extremely “close call” one of the missioners woke me up and asked me how I could sleep in such conditions. I asked him if the trip would be any safer if I started ranting and raving. Half joking I told him to simply pray and trust God. When Jesus was facing severe persecution and getting ready to be Crucified, Matthew 27 says that He remained quiet. If there was ever a time to yell and scream that would be the moment, but He didn’t say a word. He had already prayed and He trusted God. I don’t have any idea what turmoil today holds, but I have prayed and so, now I ask for the strength/faith to trust Him. Have you? Blessings
