Most of us have people and/or things in our lives that we hold as “special”. There are those “extra” special ones that we may hold so dear that we get very close to worshiping them. We almost put them on a pedestal. We certainly make little “g” gods out of them. We must be careful, because this is a very dangerous place to be; a very dangerous and slippery slope to be on. Once we give something the status of a little “g” god, it doesn’t take but one slip and that little “g” becomes a big “G” God. The problem is those little “g” gods will not carry us through. They will let us down. In Daniel 2, Nebuchadnezzar told all of his wise men to check with their little “g” gods and, not only, interpret his dream but to tell the dream as well. They said that they could not do that and he said that they would die. Then came Daniel, with the “God of Heaven”. Daniel told the dream and the interpretation, because he trusted in the “God of Heaven” – the only big “G” God. What do you say that we check our little “g” gods at the door today, and let’s trust in the God of Heaven. Blessings
