Have you ever felt let down? Maybe a friend or family member is the culprit. And once your “shell” has been ripped open, it seems like everyone else is jumping on. You have no friends, no family, no shoulder to cry on. It seems that your enemies far outnumber your friends. That must have been the way King David felt when he wrote Psalm 3. His own son was chasing him and he felt like his adversaries outnumbered his friends. Even though the pain and struggle were real, he remembered God. He remembered the shield that God covered him with and he counted on God for deliverance. I know that stress can run high around the holiday season. It seems like we all are on pins and needles. We all are right at the edge of our breaking points. Then it happens. Our gift is rejected or the gift we received is not what we expected. Our “shell” is ripped apart. We feel as if we have no one, but we do. We have God. Read Psalm 3 today and be reminded of the truth that no matter what, He will sustain us. Blessings
