Top Students for First Test of 2022

We have completed our first monthly test of the year and the top students of the year are:

Baby Class: From the right 1st place Yona (Anton tied but was absent day of picture), We also had a tie at third place between Bless (Teacher Carolina’s son) and Meshack (the headmaster’s son)
Middle Class: From right-1st place Princess, 2nd place Filex, tied at third place Eriki and Maliki
Pre-Unity From right: 1st place Precious, Second Place Yasri and Third Place Maery
Standard I from Right: 1st place is Josephine, 2nd Place is Juliet and third is Maulid
Standard II from right: 1st place Musa was absent for picture, 2nd place Samson and 3rd place is Ester
Standard III from right: 1st place is Jackson, Second place is Isaya and third place is Vanessa
Standard IV is pretty much the same: from right 1st place is Nice, 2nd place is Clara and 3rd place is Baraka Enoch
Standard V has the same folks in a slightly different order: Kimani was in 1st place, Teresia was in 2nd Place and Gladness was in 3rd place

This year our Standard IV students (17 of them) will be taking place in the Government standardized test sometime in November. We will send out prayer requests with their specific names closer to time so you can pray them through the test like you did for our current Standard V students.

We do ask for prayers right now as we have some bug floating through the school body with close to 20 kids out yesterday. A couple returned today but we still have a significant number out not feeling well.

In addition to handing out placement awards for the first test last week, we also had a parent’s meeting. This is similar to the PTA in the states. We first had a leadership meeting and now we had the actual parent’s meeting. there were about 85 people in attendance in our new dining hall. The meeting is run jointly by the headmaster and the President of the parent’s group. One thing of note is they take up an offering at the end as a motivation gift to the teachers. Another is that they have decided to build a wall around the school and the parents plan to pay for it. They don’t do fundraisers here so I am curious if this will really work or not.

Also had an interesting situation with the car. Stabilizer rod broke and had to have it replaced. Nothing like a 1/2″ solid metal rod snapping and hitting one of the speed mountains to get your attention.
