Let me begin by firmly stating that I am not a “hoarder”. People, especially my wife, tell me that I need to clean out my truck, and that I shouldn’t keep so much “stuff” in it. I always try to explain that everything in my truck has a purpose and is useful to me. The items help me to complete whatever tasks that I am working on. There is not enough room in my truck to carry everything, so I have to “rotate” the items I carry and even “clean out” my truck every once in a while. There are times that I have to throw away some things because they have lost their usefulness – they no longer help me to accomplish daily goals. Sometimes Cindy “helps” me clean out. She will hold up an old drink bottle and say “Is this still useful?” Everything she holds up I will either say “keep” or “trash”. Truthfully, I guess if she didn’t help me get rid of the things that are no longer useful or maybe never were useful then even I wouldn’t be able to get in my truck. Our lives are kind of like my truck. Every once in a while we need to go through our lives and decide if something is worth keeping or is it trash, because there is simply not enough space in life to keep carrying trash. Too much trash doesn’t leave any room to do anything useful for anyone, and we know that God created us to do good – to grow the Kingdom (Luke 13:6-9). Join me today in cleaning out your truck, I mean your life! Blessings
