As much as I try to please others and to do what is generally considered the “right” thing, I find no real lasting peace there. I have found that “pleasing others” can be a problem because sometimes the “others” don’t agree on what is pleasing. Real peace comes only from pleasing or being at one with God, and He doesn’t change! Psalm 25:18 asks God to “consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.” In other words the psalmist asks God to look at those times that He didn’t please Him and forgive him or keep him at peace anyway. Although pleasing God is sometimes a challenge, it is still the only choice that brings lasting peace. And I have found God to exhibit much more grace than those “others” we all try to please. As we are faced with choices today of “who to please”, let’s choose God. Blessings
